Dkyfishvintage is a website mainly dedicated towards vintage bamboo rod and reel restoration.
I started fly fishing 35 years ago. I have traveled overseas a few times with the desire to catch the big one. I could not get enough fly fishing due to my busy work schedule.
In my spare time I would research fly fishing online. One day I researched fly fishing rods by auction website. I came across a vintage bamboo rod which I was lucky enough to win at a very low price. The reason being it was of very poor condition. I decided to repair it.
A few months later I had restored it back to fishable condition, and it was now ready for my next fly fishing adventure.

I had discovered another side to my fly fishing hobby. I recieved great satisfaction from bringing back to life and old fly fishing rod.
I became addicted to buying old bamboo rods and and reels and restoring them to fishable condition again.
This gave me great satisfaction.
Although this website is mainlly dedicated towards the American bamboo rod and reel will guide you through the various stages of restoring old fly bamboo rods. Many were restored successfully and some unsuccessfully.
